Voting by mail is going to the best, safest way for millions of voters to cast their ballots this year.
Despite Trump’s efforts to suppress the vote by sabotaging the U.S. Postal Service, voting by mail remains one of the most reliable, accessible, and easy way for many Americans to vote.
We just need to make sure voters cast their mail-in ballots EARLY, to make sure ballots are received on time and to avoid overburdening USPS.
This is why our work with Vote From Home 2020, to have absentee and mail-in ballot applications sent to key battleground state voters and then follow up with those voters to help them complete their ballots and turn in them in early, is more urgent than ever.
Shifts are conveniently scheduled throughout the week and training will be provided.
PFAW is proud to partner with Vote from Home 2020, an organization that is connecting volunteers like you with voters in swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina – states where no excuse absentee voting is an option for all voters, but where there are few who take advantage of it.
While the coronavirus is an ongoing threat to our health and safety, ensuring voters know the range of options available to them – especially vote by mail – is significantly more important this year. As Trump and his Republican enablers continue their attacks on the USPS and vote by mail, it's of extreme importance that all who are eligible to cast their ballots by mail do so as soon as possible. Republicans are going to do all they can to suppress votes this year because it's the only real chance they have at winning in 2020.
We know that ‘get out the vote’ efforts normally consist of door knocking and face-to-face conversations with voters, but as we find ourselves still dealing with the pandemic we are adapting to ensure that we can still reach out to voters in a safe and effective way to ensure people cast their ballots.
The work of Vote from Home 2020 and your efforts will be important to ending the Trump presidency. Reaching out to voters, to ensure that they obtain an application and that they complete and return it EARLY, is a huge step in ensuring we can have a functioning democracy this November.
