John,
First, let’s take a quick second to celebrate something massive:
Lynne Walz has officially raised $3.8 million—more than any Democratic candidate for governor in Nebraska history.
That record wasn't built by D.C. insiders or corporate lobbyists. It was built by thousands of working Nebraskans chipping in $5 and $10 at a time because they're ready for common-sense leadership in Lincoln.
That is huge. But we also need to have a real talk about what we’re up against in these final weeks.
Jim Pillen and his big-money backers have hauled in an eye-watering $12.7 million.
That’s more than three times our budget. Pillen is going to use every single cent of that war chest to drown out his $1 billion budget hole, hide his broken tax promises, and blast negative ads across Nebraska.
Here’s the good news: money buys airtime, but it doesn't buy voters. That’s why an incumbent spending his way through $12.7 million is currently stuck in a tie with a public school teacher and a farmer in the polls.
We don’t need $12.7 million to win this race; we just need enough to keep our organizers in the field, fuel our rides to the polls, and put literature into every voter's hands across all 93 counties.
Will you chip in $5 or $10 right now to help us out-organize Pillen’s $12.7 million machine?
Let's finish the job,
Jeremy Ward
