John, if you ever lose faith in humanity, look at what people do after a natural disaster.

In July 2022, eastern Kentucky was hit with unprecedented floods. As soon as the first reports of the devastation started rolling in, I knew I had to be there, on the ground with my fellow Kentuckians.

In Whitesburg, Kentucky, I came upon a house where five or six people were hard at work, clearing debris and dragging ruined belongings to the curb. One woman was working so hard that I figured it had to be her house.

I told her how sorry I was, and that it must be tough to see her home like this.

"We'll get to mine later," she said. "I thought I'd start with my neighbor."

John, In This Together PAC exists to support candidates who believe that our politics should reflect that same spirit of doing right by our neighbors.

In Whitesburg, I saw the kindness and generosity of people during one of the hardest times of their lives. In the face of unimaginable tragedy, I saw neighbors helping neighbors. A community coming together and supporting one another.

That’s the best of us — and at our core, that’s what this country is all about.

But too often, our politics doesn’t reflect those values. Too many people try to tear us apart and tell us to distrust one another. It’s wrong.
