Thanks to Your Support, Kids at Revive Went Back to School Prepared
Through Doorways' Back-to School Campaign, Revive ended up providing 40 backpacks to children with all the extra materials that were donated," a Revive therapist wrote. "Parents have been calling and emailing to thank and they are so excited. A mom shared that her kids were not excited about going back to school, and when they saw the backpacks and all the school supplies, they were so happy that they were anxious to start school. I wanted to share this for donors to also know the difference they made in this families back to school."

Domestic Violence Counts (Annual Census)
Last week, Doorways participated in NNEDV's annual Domestic Violence Counts: National Census of Domestic Violence Services (Census), is a noninvasive, unduplicated count of adults and children who seek services from U.S. domestic violence shelter programs during a single 24-hour survey period. Conducted annually by NNEDV since 2006, this Census takes into account the dangerous nature of domestic violence by using a survey designed to protect the confidentiality and safety of victims.

Landlords Are Still Trying to Evict People Even Though There's a Federal Ban
"In an unprecedented move earlier this month, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a sweeping, nationwide order with the potential to shield millions of hard-up tenants from being kicked out for not paying rent, so long as they met certain criteria and took necessary action to show their landlord they qualified for protection. But, in the past week, the ban's been subjected to different interpretations both by courts and the landlords who stand to suffer financially if they can't kick someone out. That could sow confusion among renters."
