Email from MCRGO MICHIGAN COALITION FOR RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS "Promoting safe use and ownership of firearms through education, litigation, and legislation." FROM THE FRONT LINES The New MCRGO.org Is Live! MCRGO’s new website launched Tuesday, October 6, 2026, bringing members easier access to membership services, training resources, and information about our work protecting Michigan’s firearms rights. Previewed in our August 10 newsletter, this is the fourth version of MCRGO.org and replaces the website introduced in 2015 as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. The redesign puts the resources members use within easier reach. Four main sections—Membership, Training, Advocacy, and Get Involved—provide clear paths to renew your membership, find an instructor, follow legislation and litigation, or participate in shooting activities. Prominent links, simpler page layouts, and navigation designed with mobile users in mind make the website more convenient to use from your phone, tablet, or computer. More convenient membership services. The new website brings joining and renewing together in one form, with multiple online payment options securely processed through Stripe. A dedicated Members link also provides access to the member login using your member number and phone number. Training resources in one place. The Training section connects you with an instructor map so you can contact MCRGO instructors directly about class dates, pricing, and registration. An instructor verification tool allows you to check an instructor’s certification expiration date. Members interested in becoming instructors can also find application requirements and workshop information. A clearer view of the work your dues support. The Advocacy section brings together firearms legislation, litigation, and MCRGOPAC candidate information and endorsements. This makes it easier to follow the issues affecting Michigan gun owners and see how your membership supports our mission through education, litigation, and legislation. The new design also helps introduce MCRGO to prospective members. Clearly explaining who we are, what we do, and how to participate strengthens our ability to grow the statewide coalition that provides responsible gun owners a voice. Thank you to the MCRGO Marketing Workgroup and Coffee Table group for helping shape the redesign. As we continue refining the website following launch, we welcome your feedback. Visit MCRGO.org to explore the new website! RFP: MCRGO CPL PowerPoint Revision MCRGO is seeking proposals to redesign and update the PowerPoint presentation used in our concealed pistol license training program. The project will provide the approximately 150-slide presentation a professional, consistent appearance, improve classroom readability, and incorporate updated instructional content, photographs, diagrams, and instructor notes. We will evaluate proposals based on relevant experience, skills and resources, Michigan location, and cost within our $3,000–$5,000 budget. Proposals are due by noon Eastern Time on Monday, October 26, 2026, with project completion scheduled for December 30. Please review the Request for Proposal for the full scope, timeline, and submission instructions, and share it with companies that may be interested. Southwest Michigan Picnic Success! Blessed with a beautiful fall day and a popular ARC match run by MCRGO Master Instructor Jake Wedge, we enjoyed heavy turnout for yesterday's Southwest Michigan Picnic hosted by Tim Bunch at Southern Michigan Gun Club in Mattawan. We were honored to have Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-Zeeland) attend the picnic and take questions on federal legislation while MCRGO Executive Director Brady Schickinger provided a state-level update and a Get Out the Vote appeal. The NRA was represented by NRA Frontline Activist Mark Schuell. Thanks to MCRGO Southwest Michigan Director Jerry Warnemuende for grilling. We apologize for running out of food late into the event. Attendance was more than double that of last year's picnic. Photo credits go to Tony Dugal from Dugal Photo.
