When I told Keith that we missed our fundraising goal last week, we were both disappointed, but he didn't miss a beat: instead of getting down, he got fired up to push even harder this week to make sure we have the resources we need to elect progressive allies up and down the ballot this fall.

That is the energy that Keith has always brought to campaigning, and it's the energy we're all going to need to fight and win in 2020. This year has already brought unexpected challenges, and we know it's going to continue to be an uphill battle all the way to election day.

That's why we set a new, even stronger goal for this week, to raise $20,000 by this Friday. It's an especially important deadline, because on Friday, Donald Trump will be campaigning in Minnesota for the second time since August, along with recent visits from Mike Pence, Ivanka Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.

This budget target reflects what we need to counteract Trump's message of fear and division, and to support our progressive allies with organizing efforts throughout the state of Minnesota. We win when we turn out the vote, and we turn out the vote when we have the resources to reach out to Minnesotans in every corner of the state to talk about our values and the importance of this election.

But right now, we're still more than $9,000 behind our goal, with only one day before Trump lands in Minnesota.
