Today, we announced that CNN
[[link removed]] will be the exclusive broadcast partner for the Human Rights Campaign
Foundation's LGBTQ presidential town hall on the eve of National Coming Out Day!
The evening will constitute the largest-ever audience for a Democratic
presidential town hall devoted to LGBTQ issues — and will mark the first time in
history that a major cable news network will air a presidential event devoted to
issues of importance to the LGBTQ community.
Our historic town hall event, entitled Power of Our Pride , will take place in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, October 10 — on the
eve of National Coming Out Day. And what better way to celebrate the importance
of visibility than by showcasing the #PowerOfOurPride with the next President of the United States?
CNN will air the event exclusively live during prime time on CNN and CNN en
Español, and we hope that you and the rest of our HRC family will tune in!

Six candidates have already confirmed their participation in this historic
event: former Vice President Joe Biden, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Secretary
Julián Castro, Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and Senator
Elizabeth Warren — and we’ll share others as they are confirmed.
A few months ago, we hatched an idea with CNN for a historic event — one where
2020 candidates would take questions directly from some of the 10 million LGBTQ
voters with so much at stake in this election. With so much on the line, it is
crucial that we hear from Democratic presidential candidates about how they plan
to win full federal equality, defend the fundamental equality of LGBTQ people,
and protect the most vulnerable among us — both here in the United States and
around the globe — from stigma, institutional inequality, discrimination, and
violence.
We are so proud that so many presidential candidates are already on board to
share their agendas for equality during this remarkable evening — and we hope
you’re planning to join us, too. Help us make history on October 10 — and all
the way through November 2020 — by marking your calendar for October 10th and
organizing your friends, family and colleagues to join you in viewing the town
hall.
Please let us know you will watch today by RSVP’ing today here. We’ll have much
more to share as the town hall nears — so stay tuned!
