Dear John,

The Boundary Waters Wilderness has offered kids the unique opportunity to experience nature, challenge themselves, and learn valuable skills in discovery, creativity, and problem-solving for decades. Children and families from across America - and the world - visit this remote Wilderness to seek solace and create lasting memories in this unparalleled place.

This week, the Boundary Waters Action Fund – an affiliate of Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness and the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters – released a fact sheet highlighting the impact that a proposed sulfide-ore copper mine [[link removed]] on the edge of the Boundary Waters will have on kids’ foundational Wilderness experiences in this unique place. Sulfide-ore copper mining has never been done in Minnesota and has never been done safely anywhere. It is considered the riskiest type of mining and would make it unsafe for children and families to visit.

But with your help, we can elect Boundary Waters champions who will ensure that future generations can make memories like ours in the Wilderness.
Here’s what you can do today to protect the Boundary Waters:
- Pledge to vote for Boundary Waters champions [[link removed]] – and if you already have, invite your family and friends to do the same!

- Share your Boundary Waters story - email us directly or share on social media your favorite memory of a trip you took with your family or kids to the Boundary Waters and why it’s important to you to vote for Boundary Waters champions. Tag us on Facebook [[link removed]] , Twitter [[link removed]] , and Instagram [[link removed]] and use the hashtag #savethebwca 🛶

- Donate – Every penny counts! A donation of just $10 can help us defend the Boundary Waters. Give today. [[link removed]]

We know that you are committed to protecting this Wilderness, and might even have your own family memories of adventures in the Boundary Waters. Thank you for your ongoing support and care for the Wilderness. We can not win this fight without you.
For the Wilderness,
Alex Falconer
Director, Boundary Waters Action Fund
