Happy Constitution Day
[link removed] WallBuilders recently released our new book, The American Story: The Beginnings
[link removed] . In honor of Constitution Day today, below you will find Constitution-related information found in this new book.
In an attempt to solve the flaws in the Articles of Confederation, in the late spring of 1787, 55 delegates met
[link removed] at the State House in Philadelphia (known as Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence had been signed 11 years earlier) and drafted a new form of government. The Constitution
[link removed] was signed on September 17, 1787
[link removed] and was then sent to the states to be ratified
[link removed] -- it became the law of the land on June 21, 1788.
The Framers of the Constitution deliberately incorporated many Biblical principles in the Constitution, so it is not surprising that they also openly acknowledged God’s hand in the creation of the final document. For example, Alexander Hamilton said

For my own part, I sincerely esteem it a system which without the finger of God never could have been suggested and agreed upon by such a diversity of interests.
James Madison agreed
[link removed] :
It is impossible for the man of pious reflection not to perceive in it the finger of the Almighty Hand which has been so frequently and signally extended to our relief in the critical stages of the Revolution.

[link removed] , also expressed similar convictions.
