Let’s support each other
Dear John,
As a Quaker organization, AFSC recognizes that every person has inherent human dignity. When that dignity is not respected, we speak truth to power. We challenge the institutions responsible. And we come together as a community to help each other through hard times and demonstrate that another way is possible.
While 2020 has seen incredible activism and community support, we have much work ahead. We need to keep caring for one another as a global community all the way through this pandemic — and help ensure everyone can meet basic needs. We need to confront white supremacy, abolish institutions like ICE that jail immigrants and perform unsafe hysterectomies, and work towards greater racial and economic justice. We need to oppose militarism, in our streets and in our foreign policy, and build foundations for peace. But we can’t do it without the financial support of caring people like you.
I am so deeply grateful to supporters like you who are helping us pursue a more just and peaceful future. I look forward to working with you to help make the coming year one that prioritizes the needs of the people — and fulfills the promise of a beloved community.
