John,
People struggling to afford rent, groceries, and medical care deserve a powerful voice in the decisions that shape their lives. This election, we want every eligible voter to have the information and support they need to use that voice.
The urgency is clear. A new poll commissioned by The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights found that 82% of likely voters are concerned that their rights and freedoms are being taken away, and 77% worry about political leaders pressuring election officials to change election outcomes.1 Those concerns demand action, including helping people prepare to vote and know where to turn for assistance.
Start by double-checking your voter registration, even if you have voted at the same address for years. Confirm your information, check your state’s deadlines, and explore your options for voting early. Preparing now gives you more time to address a problem before it interferes with your ability to cast a ballot―and is a powerful stance against ruthless attacks on our voting rights.2
Our coalition partners have assembled resources to help you make a voting plan, understand the issues impacting your community, and support other eligible voters. Please use them and share them with friends, family members, neighbors, and the organizations you work with.
Check your registration today and make your plan to vote as early as your state allows.

Prepare your ballot and connect voting to your community’s needs. NETWORK Advocates’ nonpartisan See. Love. Vote. campaign, rooted in the Catholic Social Justice tradition, brings together multifaith and secular partners to encourage informed participation for the common good.
Help renters and people with low incomes participate. The National Low Income Housing Coalition’s Our Homes, Our Votes campaign offers nonpartisan voter engagement resources for housing advocates. Its report, Turning Renters into Voters, shares lessons for reaching low-income communities. Two upcoming webinars offer additional support for that work: GOTV for Housing Advocates on October 19 and Election Protection on November 2.
Join your community in preparing to vote early. The Coalition on Human Needs is a partner in No Kings, whose October 17 early voting day of action will bring people together to make voting plans and participate where early voting is available. Find a No Kings event near you, and mark Vote Early Day on October 24 on your calendar. Check your state’s options now so you can choose the available voting method that works for you.
Know where to get help, and help others get it. Save 866-OUR-VOTE, or 866-687-8683, in your phone. The nonpartisan Election Protection coalition helps voters with questions and problems exercising their rights. If you want to support that work, explore Election Protection volunteer opportunities. Reliable information and timely assistance can help a neighbor overcome a barrier and make their voice heard.
Please check your registration, make your voting plan, and share these resources with someone who could use them.
Thank you for all you do,
