Last week I was honored to receive the Marilyn Epstein Pro-Choice Champion Award from Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon. I have been "standing with Planned Parenthood" since my college days, so I could not be more proud to be selected as their 2020 champion for choice and reproductive freedoms.

We have so much work ahead of us:  In the past few years, Trump has reshaped our courts to be more hostile to reproductive rights than they’ve been in decades -- with federal judges appointed for life. As a result, anti-abortion extremists and lawmakers around the country have been emboldened to pursue dangerous laws that restrict access to basic reproductive health care. 

 

As the People’s Attorney, I will continue to fight back against these laws, and I will not let up as long as there is one individual denied access to health care or to basic rights to make their own decisions about their own body.
