Girls Inc. alumna Ashton Mayo-Beavers (top left) spoke these inspiring words at a recent live event co-hosted by Girls Inc. and United State of Women called “Unfinished Fights, Unsung Heroes: Centering Women of Color in the Voting Rights Movement." It was a powerful panel conversation exploring the complicated history of the 19th Amendment and the barriers to civic participation that still remain today. Girls Inc. President & CEO Dr. Stephanie J. Hull opened and closed the event, and the panel included several accomplished women-advocates. Watch the panel recording on the USOW YouTube channel here.
