Friends,
At Poynter, our mission is to elevate the quality of journalism and ensure citizens have access to information they can trust. We know this work is essential to the health of our democracy, and let's face it: it's never been more evident than in an election year like this one.
Poynter’s ambitions are robust between now and Nov. 3. We’ll launch news literacy programs for first-time voters and older citizens to help them tell fact from fiction in their news feeds. We’ll keep fact-checking claims made by those running for office. We’ll provide more e-learning resources to college educators as they prepare tomorrow’s journalists. We’ll convene journalists and citizens alike to discuss an election “night” like no other. And, we’ll produce voting guides to be a resource to you every step of the way.
