Right now, President Trump is attempting to DEFUND Social Security. As the leader on Social Security in the House, I've introduced two bills to block his attempts. Americans were born at night, but not last night. President Trump will tweet anything to manipulate the moment with no regard to policy or the consequences of his actions. He's pushing for a faux-tax cut that is the first step to defund Social Security, that will result in Americans being double-taxed next year. This isn't reality TV, these are people's lives and Social Security is a sacred trust.
