It's Legal To Bring This to School
The Bible is now a must-have school supply for students like Ethan, who considers it essential for surviving the school day.
“When you have the Bible right out in front of you … when it’s sitting out on the corner of your desk, or in your backpack,” said Ethan, a 16-year-old student in Colorado, “it’s a constant reminder of what God has in store for you and to do what God wants you to do, rather than doing things off of your own selfish ambitions.”
Thursday, October 4, 2019, is the annual "Bring Your Bible to School Day." Encourage your child/children to carry their Bible to school not only on October 4, but every day. Make it a part of their routine to make time for God's Word between classes, at lunch time or while riding the bus. And don't forget "See You at the Pole" on Wednesday, September 25! See left sidebar for more info on SYATP!

LGBTQ History Mandated in Neighboring IL Middle Schools
From Beitbart:
"Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has signed a new bill into law requiring the state’s schools to teach 'LGBTQ history' to students by the eighth grade.
"The law will require schools to add the history of prominent lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans, according to the New York Post."

Wisconsin Family Action posted this article on our Facebook HERE. These are some of the responses we received:
"Time to stop funding public 'education'..... It's obviously become nothing but public indoctrination."
"If Governor Evers and the Democrats get their way in Wisconsin it will be here."
"Parents have the right to opt their children out of these sex ed classes. The state cannot teach your children their lack of morality. It is sexual exploitation of minor children."
"We all need to hold this in fervent prayer daily.... and spread the word to others."
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. Know what is being taught in your child's school. Many school districts have their courses listed on line along with descriptions. For those districts that are not as transparent, any parent or taxpayer may ask to see the curriculum taught in their local school district.
2. Talk to local school board members about questionable courses or any other concerns you may have.
3. Pray for your local public school officials--school board members, administration, teachers, staff and students.

How Online Habits Form Us
Samuel James writing for desiringgod.org highlights some heart-attitudes dominant in the digital world and offers a biblical truth to counter each. “My story is the ultimate truth” digital lie is countered with "we are not God." His revealed Truth is the only infallible way of understanding ourselves. Another digital lie is “I have to say something.” The truth is we are to be still and know He is God. Sometimes silence is best. James says “[a] gnawing ache to broadcast our opinions…online could be evidence…that we don’t feel enlivened by God’s presence as we ought to be.”
While the digital world offers much good, it comes with some distinct challenges. Christian parents especially need to be aware of these and help their children navigate this world. Buying into digital lies can be very destructive. Purposefully developing a biblical worldview in young lives and hearts gives both a good offense and certainly a good defense against any lies this world offers.

Benefits of Memorizing Scripture as a Teen
Teen author, Katherine Forster, writes, "We know [Bible memorization] is important, maybe we did it as little kids because we were made to, and it’s not like we don’t love God and want to be in his Word. We just figure, 'I’ll do that later.' There’s something else I’d rather do, or need to do, right now. But Bible memory is important right now, too. It’s especially important for teens, those of us who are in a season of life devoted to learning and growth.
"If we’re going to grow into committed, Christlike followers of God, we need to be memorizing his Word."
A lot of wisdom from this teen—and truth that is good for all of us no matter our age. We all need to memorize the Word of God for all the reasons young Forster notes. This could be a wonderful family project, involving all ages in memorizing a portion of Scripture together, reciting it, studying it and discussing how it applies to each person in his or her stage of life.
