John,

In May, Virginia Democrats passed a historic measure to decriminalize marijuana -- an important and necessary step to combat our nation’s ongoing history of racial disparities in enforcement of marijuana laws.

Now it’s time for our federal government to follow the Commonwealth’s lead.

Elaine is proud to co-sponsor the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act, which would officially remove marijuana from the list of federally controlled Schedule I substances, expunge federal marijuana convictions and arrests, and allocate resources for communities affected by the war on drugs.

It’s time to make history -- we’re mobilizing 3,000 citizen co-sponsors to support this critical legislation to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level >>

Millions of Americans and veterans could benefit from being able to access marijuana as one of the only forms of treatment helpful for a range of conditions from PTSD to anxiety, depression, and painful symptoms caused by chemotherapy.

33 states and the District of Columbia have already legalized medical marijuana, and polling shows that the majority of Americans are in favor of legalizing marijuana.

Elaine is working to deschedule marijuana so patients aren’t denied the critical care they need. Sign on to tell Washington our outdated federal marijuana laws must go >>
