Hi John,
We are excited for tonight’s third conversation in the Ms. Foundation for Women and Brooklyn Historical Society multi-part virtual series on our fight for equality. Women + Power reflects on the triumphs and shortcomings of the passage of the 19th Amendment, with discussions on the relationship between gender, power, and the ongoing struggle for equality.
Tonight’s conversation focuses on the continued fight against voter suppression with Stacey Abrams, the first Black woman in the United States to become a major-party gubernatorial nominee. In 2018, after witnessing the gross mismanagement of the election by the office of the Georgia Secretary of State, Abrams launched Fair Fight to ensure every Georgian has a voice in our election system. Moderated by activist, writer, and Ms. Foundation Director of Communications Raquel Willis.
