Today, Mike Pence is in my home state of Ohio to lie to working people in a pathetic attempt to get us to vote for Trump and against our best interests.

It would be laughable, but their fake-populist BS led Trump to victory in 2016. I saw many of my fellow GM workers fall for Trump’s lies, and the stakes are too high to let it happen again.

While Joe Biden is busy giving prime speaking slots to our former anti-labor governor John Kasich, Our Revolution is the only group organizing working people like me in critical Midwestern counties that voted for Obama and then switched to Trump!

I’ve worked in factories for General Motors since 1999. In that time, I’ve been through plant closings in Dayton, Ohio, Shreveport, Louisiana – and most recently, Lordstown, Ohio.

In Lordstown, I saved up to buy a house. After all, in 2017 President Trump told us: “Jobs are coming back. Don’t move, don’t sell your house.”

That lie was powerful enough to help Trump flip my county — a once-proud union stronghold that voted for Obama/Biden in 2012. President Trump had promised that he would use his power to keep the Lordstown plant in America.

Now, thanks to Trump’s lies, 5,000 of my fellow workers are on the street. And like so many of them, I have to put my house up for sale and look for a job somewhere else because our factory is closed.

What happened to us in Ohio is happening in other Midwestern states, once the bastion of manufacturing jobs and a broad middle class.

That’s why I’m fighting back with Our Revolution. We are going to do everything in our power to make sure that a repeat of 2016 doesn’t happen.

Trump’s failure to protect American workers has left me with no other option. If we let this unAmerican liar get another term, more workers will suffer. We can’t afford to let that happen.
