My Republican opponent just loaned his campaign another $1 million.

Yes, you read that right.

He can afford to write himself million-dollar checks to fund his campaign, after already putting millions of his own money into this race.

And what is that money going towards? Attack ads against me. Billboards smearing me. And countless other attacks.

This is bad news for our campaign.

I can’t compete against a self-funder with millions at his disposal. I don’t have millions of dollars sitting in the bank to pour into this campaign whenever I need a boost. And I’ve made a different choice: I’m not taking corporate PAC money to make up the difference.

So when my opponent writes himself another $1 million check, I have to turn to you.

Because this campaign is powered by people — not personal wealth.
