Since the early beginnings of this pandemic, I've been fighting to ensure that the health, safety, and well-being of the American people remain Congress' top priority. And while we've passed some key response legislation to address the impacts of COVID-19, there are still several bills that I have both introduced and championed which still require further action.

H.R. 6909 Pandemic Heroes Compensation Act:
This bill allows essential workers and their family members to file claims and receive compensation for harm or death suffered as a result of COVID-19.

H.R. 6720 Student Debt Forgiveness for Frontline Health Care Workers Act:
This bill will provide student loan forgiveness to health care workers who are on the front line in response to COVID–19.

H.R. 7027 Child Care is Essential Act, and its complement H.R. 7327 Child Care for Economic Recovery Act:
These (2) bills would set up a $50 billion Child Care Stabilization fund to make child care affordable so that parents can return to work, as well as giving child care providers in NYC the resources they need to safely reopen.

H.R. 6576 Stop Overdraft Profiteering During COVID-19 Emergency Act:
This bill would prohibit banks from collecting overdraft fees during the coronavirus pandemic.

H.R. 6515 Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act of 2020:
This bill would suspend rent and mortgage payments during COVID-19 for renters and homeowners, and it would also provide a Rental Relief Fund and a Lender Relief Fund for landlord and mortgage holders to help them with the suspended payments.
STATUS: Has not passed the House

H.R.8015 Delivering for America Act: 
This bill would rollback detrimental changes implemented to the USPS by Postmaster General DeJoy and prevent further revisions until after the elections, to ensure that mail-in voting is not harmed during the pandemic.
STATUS: Passed the House; needs to pass Senate
