It seems like just yesterday! On Election Night 2018, we were crammed into the basement of US Pizza on Dickson Street. My friends and family were there, including my daughters, who were the reason I ran.

Now that my first session is over, there’s one question I’m hearing an awful lot, especially from the people who missed me the most. “What’d you do, mom?”

I was proud to serve as co-sponsor on 19 pieces of legislation that have now been signed into law. I was also proud to stand up for Arkansas’ workers, when the Governor signed my package of bills supporting firefighters who get cancer in the line of duty.
I was equally proud to fight for bills that never made it to the Governor’s desk, when I introduced legislation to provide counsel to juveniles in the court system, to provide protections to Arkansas renters, and to keep our communities safer from gun violence. Because some things just must be fought for.

And we have so much more work to do. We must make affordable healthcare (including mental healthcare), access to high quality public education (beginning with pre-K), meaningful tax relief for low- and middle-income families, equal rights, and an equitable criminal justice system a reality for ALL Arkansans.

That night at US Pizza, my friend gave me a book about Arkansas politics by Diane Blair.

Its pages are filled with stories of Arkansans working hard to make things better, even when the road was long.

That’s Arkansas. That book is our story. All of you, who have shown up for what’s right, in a million ways, big and small, over these last two years. That’s OUR story.

So, the question isn’t what did I do? It’s what did we do, together?

It’s only because of your support that we passed laws to help victims of domestic violence and juveniles in our justice system. To help Arkansans fighting drug addiction. To address maternal and infant mortality. And to raise teacher pay for our public educators.

Thanks to you, things in Arkansas are changing. And Northwest Arkansas is leading the way.

I’m so happy to announce today that I’m running for re-election.

Be proud, Fayetteville. We accomplished so much for our state, together. And be excited.

Because we’re just getting started.
TWO HUGE WAYS YOU CAN HELP!

1) Please join us, back at US Pizza – back where it all started – as we celebrate the kickoff of this new campaign.  ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, Thursday, Sep. 12, 6-8. Find the event on our Facebook page here!

2) If you’re able, please consider contributing financially by clicking here. Filing and running are expensive undertakings, and your support will go a very long way.

Thank you so much for your support, your guidance, and your friendship over the last two years.  I feel so fortunate to be your Representative.

Love,
Nicole
