Today, I’m proud to announce that my bill, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, will be voted on by the whole House of Representatives.

Here’s why my bill is important: many pregnant workers continue to face unfair, unreasonable, and downright cruel conditions — and for no reason other than the fact that they are carrying a child.

This kind of treatment — especially in the midst of a dangerous pandemic — is shameful, and we can’t allow it to continue.

Pregnant workers across the country do not deserve to suffer because their workplace refuses to make reasonable accommodations for them.

That’s why I need you with us. Only by showing strength in numbers can we fight back against the appalling and sexist conditions faced by some pregnant women in the workplace.

It’s time we finally come together and provide pregnant workers with the full protections they deserve. No mother-to-be should have to worry about keeping her job or her home again.
