Tracking Federal Funding to Fight America's Opioid Epidemic

Join us on September 30 as the Bipartisan Policy Center releases a new report which tracks all federal funding appropriated in fiscal year 2019 to curb the opioid epidemic. This report builds on BPC’s previously released FY2018 and 2017 study.

Although overdose death rates decreased in 2018, preliminary data suggests that death rates climbed by 4.9 percent in 2019, with over 71,000 deaths predicted. States and counties also report that overdose deaths are rising in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating the problem. 

BPC’s event will include a panel of experts and members of Congress who will discuss how the federal government can better partner with states and localities to tackle America’s opioid epidemic and the impact of COVID-19 on this urgent challenge.
