The pandemic has devastated the economy, and people across the country are struggling to get by. If Congress fails to pass a strong relief package, they will leave Wisconsin families to face this crisis on their own.
Tell Congress to pass the strong COVID relief bill that Wisconsin families need.
Half-measures like the Senate Republicans’ package and
President Trump’s executive actions aren't cutting it. Congress should immediately negotiate a bipartisan agreement that would put people first and provide real relief, especially for low-income Wisconsin residents and people of color who have been hit the hardest by the pandemic and recession.
The need is clear:
- 116,000 Wisconsin parents can't provide enough food for their children to eat;
- 165,000 Wisconsin renters don't think they will be able to pay next month's rent; and
- 2 million Wisconsin residents are having trouble paying their usual household expenses.
Instead of working to pass a robust relief COVID relief package, Senate Republicans have offered short-term, piecemeal proposals and the Trump Administration issued executive actions that fall short of addressing what is necessary.
We know what’s needed: help for families to put food on the table, pay their rent, and make ends meet during this time of crisis. Federal policymakers need to put politics aside and pass a strong relief package that puts a high priority on the people who have been hit hardest by the recession.
Tell Congress that Wisconsin families shouldn't have to struggle through this recession alone. Our elected officials in Washington need to pass a strong COVID relief bill that meets the needs of Wisconsin families.
