I was sitting in a wooden pew in a three-hundred-year-old cathedral in Granada, Spain, beneath painted panels that read "The Art of Evangelizing." The space was breathtaking, but the pews sat empty, and the whole place was built in the shadow of the Spanish Inquisition. Terror and gift. Beauty and wreckage.

Jeremiah 6:16 says, "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." The Church is standing at that crossroads today, asking where the good way is. That question is the heart of Missio Alliance's next Awakenings gathering, A People at the Threshold, in April 2027 in the Twin Cities. We come as a people willing to stand at the crossroads, ask hard questions, walk toward something good, and let it change us. If any of this resonates, we'd love for you to walk with us.

** We are Neighbors
------------------------------------------------------------

For National Hispanic Heritage Month, Our Daily Bread Ministries has released We Are Neighbors, a 10-day reading plan on loving others, building meaningful relationships, and living out the gospel in our communities. Missio Alliance's National Director, Lisa Rodriguez-Watson, contributed to the series with a devotion called "Conversations that Heal." It reflects on John 4 and the healing that comes from being truly heard, inviting readers to slow down, resist the urge to fix, and make room for someone's story to unfold.

The plan is free online or in the Our Daily Bread app ([link removed]) . Consider walking through it with your congregation or leadership team this month, and notice which neighbors you might listen to along the way.

The Shibuya Crossing and the Holy Spirit's Intersections ([link removed]) | Vatreisha Nyemba ([link removed])

"Many Christ followers are living with heads down, choosing not to engage in the messy streets of life. But the Holy Spirit calls us to join God in the intersections of societal chaos and human brokenness."

How Do I Name What I’m Sensing? ([link removed]) | Andrew Arndt

"My respect for the epistolary form notwithstanding, it feels presumptuous of me to speak in any kind of authoritative way to you. I can only bear witness, therefore, to what I see from where I stand–in the midst of the people I am privileged to pastor, in the hopes that my testimony might raise an answering witness in your own heart. How do I name what I am sensing?"

If Revival is Real, the Vulnerable will Tell Us ([link removed]) | Daniel Yang

"If revival is happening, it won’t ultimately be confirmed by crowd size, social media buzz, or the emotional intensity of worship gatherings. If revival is real, the vulnerable will tell us."

** Practicing Standing at the Crossroads
------------------------------------------------------------

Thresholds can make us restless. We want to know what comes next, which direction to take, how the story will turn out. But Jeremiah’s invitation begins somewhere else: Stand. Look. Ask.

This week, resist the urge to rush through whatever threshold you find yourself standing at.

Name a place in your life, your community, or the Church where the way forward feels uncertain. Give yourself a few quiet minutes to simply stand there—not solving, defending, or deciding.

Look: What is true here that I need to see clearly?

Ask: What have I inherited that is worth carrying forward? What needs to be released?

Listen: Where might the good way be emerging, even if I cannot see the whole path yet?

Then choose one small step toward what feels faithful.
