You've heard by now that Donald Trump is coming to Bemidji on Friday. His campaign has been relentless in their efforts to target our district, sending in Ivanka Trump, Mike Pence, Donald Trump Jr., and now Donald Trump himself all here within a few short weeks.

I wish I could say that this didn't concern me, but to be totally honest, it does.

On top of the major contributions that Pete Stauber receives from giant corporate PACs, he's now got the full force of the Trumps boosting his campaign.

My grassroots campaign doesn't take any shortcuts.

I took the pledge to refuse corporate PAC money because I know those big handouts come with loaded special interests. All of my funding comes from the everyday people I will be fighting for — not Big Pharma, oil and gas tycoons, and other mega-donors like Stauber.

And unlike Stauber, I don't have powerful friends like the Trumps to lean on to promote my campaign. Instead, my team has built this movement from scratch through voter outreach and grassroots organizing across the district. We know that in order to win Minnesotans over, it's going to take more than a few publicity stunts.

But while money and power aren't what this campaign is about, it's what we're up against in my GOP opponent. So if we're going to get the necessary funding to keep up, I'm relying on people-power from grassroots donors like you.

These next 49 days are going to determine the outcome of this race, and our ability to hit tonight's mid-month benchmark is going to set the stage.
