But there's another thing that's drawing our attention today: we're about halfway through the month, but we are not halfway towards hitting our critical September fundraising goal.

Our public fundraising report from this quarter is going to be one of the last opportunities to demonstrate the strength of our grassroots movement before Election Day. We've had a strong start so far, but our numbers are behind where they need to be right now to close out September—and the quarter—strong.

The folks who want me to lose my seat this year—the special interest donors and Republican Super PACs—will especially be keeping a watchful eye out for this report. I know they're hoping to see our momentum fizzle out.

They believe they can defeat me and stop my re-election. We can show them that our grassroots movement is strong and we're not backing down, but we first need to turn things around and finish this last month of the quarter strong.

This has been an incredibly challenging and disheartening year, and there have been many opportunities for our elected leaders to make a choice: to fight for the people, or to side with the special interests and rich donors who benefit from this corrupt Administration.

For me, that choice has been simple. My commitment to put working families first has not wavered—from securing a commitment for free COVID-19 testing, to pressuring the Administration to release public data on who is receiving taxpayer-funded bailout money, to exposing the lack of qualifications of our Postmaster General.

But I know that each time I ask a tough question and demand accountability from a powerful official, more and more people look for ways to put a stop to my re-election.

The only way we can fight back and win is by growing a movement strong enough to compete against the influence of special interests in our government—and we can do this through your grassroots donations and publishing a strong FEC fundraising report.
