Because it’s a weapon designed for one reason: to kill as many people as possible, quickly and efficiently.

The vast majority of Americans support a federal ban on assault weapons. When the original ban was in effect from 1994-2004, America saw a 37% decline in gun massacres and a 70% decline in assault weapons traced to crime.

If we can do this, we can save countless lives.
