Dear John,

From flash floods here in Georgia to wildfires in California, it is clear that climate change is a real and urgent problem we must address. My environmental priorities have changed over my years in Congress, but my commitment to preserving our natural resources has not.

It is a common misconception that environmental interests stand in opposition to agricultural priorities. This is not true. In fact, farmers and ranchers are often the first to feel the effects of climate change, like shifting rainfall patterns and soil erosion. My lifelong promise to advocate for our state’s farmers and ranchers includes a promise to protect our environment, natural resources, and public lands.

John, we need leaders in Congress who understand the relationship between agriculture and our environment. We need leaders who will find win-win solutions to the twin crises of climate change and economic inequality. I am committed to being that leader.

Will you contribute $100, $50, $10, or any amount you can afford to my campaign for reelection? [link removed]

In Congress, I am proud to promote conservation and energy efficiency, utilize alternative energy sources, reduce reliance on foreign oil and fossil fuels, and invest in clean energy initiatives that will create jobs in our community.

Here at home, I have contributed to the Tired Creek Project in Grady County, flood protection and water security initiatives, and measures to protect our state parks and public lands. In July of this year, I spoke before Congress to advocate for the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park here in our district.

I am proud to have received a 93% score from the League of Conservation Voters, and I am running for reelection to continue my advocacy for a sustainable planet.

If you value representatives who truly care about the environment, please chip in to my reelection campaign. My opponent is running a million-dollar campaign funded by Big Oil and corporate PACs, and I am relying on individual supporters like you to stay competitive. With less than 50 days until the election, will you contribute any amount today?

Thank you for your support. Together, we fight for a bright and equitable future.

Sincerely,

Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr.
