Democrat,
The old saying goes that when more and more people vote, Democrats win. That's why you see Republicans across the country continue to engage in blatant acts of voter suppression, usually targeted at minorities and other likely Democratic voters. In our party we take the opposite approach. We want more participation in our democracy. Recently, New Jersey took a big step forward to make our elections more accessible -- voter registration is now available completely online for the first time in state history.
Governor Murphy and Democrats in the State Legislature have worked together over the last three years to open up our democracy, and online voter registration is the latest in a series of important steps we are taking. Earlier this year, Governor Murphy signed a bill creating an automatic voter registration system for people applying for a driver's license or other state programs. And, in light of the pandemic, he has acted to protect our democracy and public health by providing vote by mail ballots to nearly all registered voters for the upcoming election. All of these actions have helped make it easier for New Jersey residents to exercise their right to vote.
For political organizers, candidates for office and even just active citizens working to raise awareness in your own communities, online voter registration is a game changer. It makes registering to vote as simple as a few clicks. To register to vote yourself, all you need to do is visit the state's Voter Registration page and be ready with either the new voter's driver's license or social security number to verify their identity. It's that simple.

Remember, when we all participate in our elections, Democrats win. Now is the time to do our part and help elect Democrats up and down the ballot, and getting more voters registered is the first step. The deadline to register to vote for the general election is October 13, so there is still time.
Thank you for supporting our party.
