I’ve never reached out to this list before, but with the election exactly one month away, I wanted to tell you about the Maura I know.

Most of you know Maura as your Governor — the leader who’s protecting our healthcare, making record investments in our schools, expanding access to childcare and early education, and building more housing.

But I get to know her as something else: the person still sitting at our kitchen table long after the lights at the State House have gone dark and our kids have gone to bed, working through the details of one more bill, worrying about one more family, asking one more time whether the team has truly done everything they can.

That's who Maura is when no one is watching. She does this work because she genuinely believes that government can make people's lives better — and because she can't stand the thought of anyone in this state being left behind.

Believe me when I tell you, the moment we're in is serious. All across the country, people in power are trying to tear down the things that keep us free and keep us safe. And Massachusetts is squarely in their sights.
