Dear John,
I wanted to make sure you saw Abbie's invite for this Thursday’s event. This will be a great opportunity to get quickly caught up on the Maine Climate Council’s work to-date, to hear about the remaining process to draft a new Climate Action Plan between now and December 1, and to learn how you can get involved.
Join MCV and our partners from around the state for the Half-Time Show: Analysis and Commentary on the Maine Climate Council's September Meetings on Thursday, September 17 from 12-1 PM. Click here to register!
Hope to see you Thursday,
Kathleen
Dear John,
Living through the COVID-19 crisis is making the looming crisis of climate change feel more real than ever and Mainers want to act. Luckily, Maine is currently drafting a new Climate Action Plan due in December! We need you to get involved to make sure that the plan is strong and works for all Mainers.
The Maine Climate Council is hosting two half day meetings online tomorrow, September 9 and next Wednesday, September 16 from 9AM - 12PM. During these meetings, we expect the council to share the results of a cost/benefit analysis and an equity analysis of recommended climate strategies. They will also share the results of a “cost of doing nothing analysis,” and the survey responses they received from the public this summer. Please attend these important public meetings! You can register for the meetings separately here: September 9 and September 16.
Whether you’re able to attend the meetings or not, please join MCV and our partners from around the state for an online “Half-Time Show” on Thursday, September 17 from 12-1PM. Experts from across Maine's conservation community will summarize and analyze the meetings and the council’s work to-date. Register here!
Have a great day,
Abbie
