Campaign Launches Ad Setting the Record Straight

New ad dismantles National Democrats' misleading attacks on Wittman's record

Virginia's First Congressional District - Today, Rob Wittman launched a new ad
<[link removed]> responding directly to Shannon Taylor and Hakeem
Jeffries’ baseless and fraudulent attacks. Taylor and her Democratic Party
bosses in DC have spent heavily on ads falsely claiming Congressman Wittman
traded stocks for his own benefit.

THE FACTS:

* Rob Wittman has never personally selected, purchased, sold, or directed the
timing of an individual stock trade. His investments are managed by a financial
adviser and independent third-party investment managers who make those
decisions without consulting him.
* Wittman has never been found to have engaged in insider trading or used
nonpublic congressional information for financial gain.
* The STOCK Act violation Taylor cites was a late financial disclosure caused
by an accountant, not insider trading. That accountant has since been replaced
as Wittman is deeply committed to transparency and accountability.
* On July 22, 2026, Wittman voted for the Stop Insider Trading Act to ban
members of Congress from trading stocks (Roll Call Vote 280, H.R. 7008). This
helped the legislation pass the House.
* Changes in Rob and Kathryn’s reported assets reflect decades of retirement
savings, long-term investments, real estate, appreciation, and family
inheritances.
* Rob and Kathryn still live in the same Montross home they bought in 1985.
Rob drives himself back and forth between Washington and Montross in his
Toyota, as featured in his earlier ad, "Virginia's First District Comes First
to Wittman.”

"Facts matter. I don't believe members of Congress should get rich on insider
information. I never have. That's why I leave my investments to independent
professionals, and it's why I voted to ban congressional stock trading. Shannon
knows it. She's just counting on voters not checking," said Congressman Rob
Wittman.

"I’ve spent my career serving the families of Virginia's First District: our
veterans, our farmers, our small businesses, our kids and grandkids. No attack
ad changes that."

Shannon Taylor's entire campaign rests on one attack, and it collapses the
second you look at Rob's record. This ad makes sure every voter in the First
District sees the truth.
