*2019 data now available for the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) API and NCVS Victimization Analysis Tool (NVAT) [ [link removed] ]*

These tools provide instant access to NCVS data on


* nonfatal personal crimes (rape or sexual assault, robbery, aggravated and simple assault, and personal larceny)
* property crimes (burglary/trespassing, motor-vehicle theft, and other theft).

The NCVS is one of two primary sources of information about crime in the United States. It provides the largest national forum for victims age 12 or older to describe the impact of crime and characteristics of violent offenders, including crimes both reported and not reported to police.
