The 74 Million: Measure Everything

Dear John,

Last month, we released two policy briefs ([link removed]) --Fund Everything and Measure Everything--to chart a path forward out of our educational crisis. Derrell Bradford and I expounded further upon Fund Everything in an op-ed for USA Today ([link removed]) , and today we’re doing the same for Measure Everything in a new op-ed at The 74 Million ([link removed]) .

“We need a new philosophy that is family-centered and helps make learning visible wherever and whenever it is happening,” we write ([link removed]) . “By investing in a variety of measurement tools--and the connections between them--we can ensure we gain the insight we need to direct emergency funding to its greatest use and provide families, students and teachers with the real-time information they need to thrive.”

We’re thankful for everything you’ve done so far to galvanize momentum around these briefs, which is turning into real change, including a landmark win for Fund Everything in North Carolina ([link removed]) and an important step forward for Measure Everything in Tennessee ([link removed]) . Let’s keep building that momentum.
