Dear John,
The COVID-19 pandemic creates many challenges for women and girls who need reproductive health care. That’s why we’re investing serious time and energy in solutions that let women access abortion without having to visit a health center.
In Pakistan, Ipas and partners are training health professionals to provide telehealth consultations with women and girls who want contraception or an abortion with pills.
“These providers can now offer consultations at any time of the day, whether it’s by phone, the internet or smartphone apps,” explains Ipas Pakistan Director Ghulam Shabbir Awan. “[They] can counsel and help women manage their own abortions outside health facilities with medical abortion drugs. They can also offer counseling and advice on family planning services.”
