Yesterday, Tom hosted a town hall in Oakland with his longtime friend Vien Truong, who has fought alongside Tom for climate justice for over 10 years. Tom and Vien discussed the climate crisis and how we can work together to solve it. Don’t worry if you missed it — we streamed the whole thing live, and you can click here to watch the recording. One of the more memorable moments came from a passionate 17-year-old climate activist who asked how Tom plans to ensure a livable future for her and other young Americans. Tom’s answer reaffirmed the urgency of what we’re doing, starting with his promise to declare a climate emergency on day one of his presidency: “It’s a statement about priorities. Look, from my standpoint, this is Job One for the United States of America with me as president.” Watch his full response:
