Friend, we’re not just looking to send Mitch packing this fall—there are more than a few leaders across the commonwealth who’ve turned their back on the constituents they represent.

That’s why we’re all in to elect dedicated, people-focused leaders for Kentucky up and down the ballot. Today, I want to introduce you to four people I’m thrilled to support in their bids for the Kentucky Legislature: Ryan Olexia, Margaret Plattner, Suzanne Kugler, and Shirley Mitchell.

You can click here to support Shirley’s campaign and you can split a donation between Ryan, Margaret, and Suzanne here.

Here’s a little more about why I’m supporting these folks, four Kentuckians who have dedicated their careers to public service in all kinds of ways (and three happen to be fellow veterans!):

  • Ryan Olexia, U.S. Army Captain turned owner of a small animal veterinary clinic located in Fort Mitchell in Northern Kentucky, is running for Senate District 23 because he’s sick of the division and hyperpartisanship at the Capitol that’s taking the focus off everyday people.

  • Retired Navy Lt. Commander in intelligence Margaret Plattner followed up her military career with decades of service in state government, with a focus on veterans’ issues. Now she’s running for House District 33, which includes parts of Louisville and Oldham County, to apply her problem-solving skills to help the commonwealth emerge stronger from COVID-19.

  • Shirley Mitchell is a veteran of the Navy Civil Engineer Corps who oversaw infrastructure projects across the globe before transitioning to a career in technology. Now, she’s running for House District 45 in Lexington to expand opportunities for all Kentuckians to access the American dream. (Fun fact: Like my mom did in medicine, Shirley blazed trails at the University of Kentucky by pursuing a career in mechanical engineering at a time when very few women were in the field).

  • Suzanne Kugler, who recently retired from 21 years teaching in Jefferson County Public Schools, was dismayed to see the complete lack of support for public education from her current representative (a 24-year incumbent). Now, she’s running for Kentucky’s House District 29 in Louisville to champion the residents of the biggest county in our state.

In turning seats from red to blue, all of these incredible candidates will be champions for affordable health care, quality public education, a living wage, fair elections and a robust COVID-19 response across our state. Even better—these strategic seats will increase turnout in areas that will expand our winning game plan to beat Mitch and send him into retirement.

Split a donation between Ryan, Margaret, and Suzanne here and while you’re at it, chip in to support Shirley’s campaign too, if you can.

Thank you,

Amy
