A new story about our race here in Virginia’s 7th district was featured in this weekend’s Washington Post, and I wanted to touch base with a quick recap:

Abigail is running a campaign that emphasizes her strong record of reaching across the aisle and focuses on the urgent needs of working families and businesses in Central Virginia. This record of hard work poses a tough challenge for her opponent because of his extreme legislative record.

In contrast, the article lays out how Abigail’s opponent picks partisan politics (that “at times goes far beyond his Republican colleagues in the Virginia Capitol”) over providing much needed relief for the people he represents. 

Abigail’s opponent:

Was one of only four Republicans to vote no on capping insulin prices

Was the only person of either party in the Virginia House to vote no to require that small-group market insurance companies cover autism diagnosis and treatment.

Was among the Republicans who voted no on Medicaid expansion in Virginia

Supports repealing the Affordable Care Act completely, which would do away with essential benefits and protections for those with preexisting conditions.  

We all know someone who would be harmed by our opponent’s goal to gut our existing healthcare system and strip away protections for those with pre-existing conditions. These issues affect real people, and they are not partisan games.  

We need to re-elect Abigail to best represent the people of Central Virginia.
