Mary Gay, the team, and I are working around the clock to make sure we have the resources to defend PA-05 in the fight up to November. While the president has encouraged his supporters to vote twice, made comments about moving the election, and repeatedly attacked the vote-by-mail process in an attempt to suppress the vote, we’ve focused our efforts on promoting safe and secure voting methods. Pennsylvanians who requested their ballots by mail will begin to receive them in just a couple of weeks -- and we need to emphasize how important it is that they turn their ballots in early.
But John, we’re VERY behind our mid-month fundraising goal ahead of our last quarterly filing deadline of the year -- and falling short now will put a target on our district.
Trump knows that he’s in for a tough re-election race -- so we’re expecting his campaign and national Republicans to spend furiously to win in suburban swing districts like ours.
