Stand Up for America

What to Know: Violence in our streets seems to be ramping up—from riots across the nation to higher crime rates in our cities ([link removed] ) .

The TPPF Take: It’s time for our elected officials and our publicly funded universities to confront the anti-Americanism that is feeding these fires.

“America is still the last best hope for humans on earth,” says TPPF’s Kevin Roberts. “But we have thousands—if not a few million—Americans who don’t agree with that. And that’s because anti-Americanism is being taught in our universities. But too many elected officials don’t wish to take a bold stand against it.”

California Dreamin’

What to Know: As wildfires, rolling blackouts and street violence grow in intensity, many in the Golden State fear their “California Dream” is over ([link removed] ) .

The TPPF Take: The problems California faces are exacerbated by leftist policies.

“When the fire experts plan for a proscribed burn, environmental groups sue, fretting over the damage to species of plants and animals that might be harmed by the intentional fire,” notes TPPF’s Chuck DeVore, a former California assemblyman. “In the same way, policies that ban reliable fossil fuel-based energy generation have made California’s electric grid less reliable and resilient. For my part, by 2011, I had seen enough to know that California’s leftward tilt—and the policy fiascos that naturally follow—was likely unstoppable. I decamped to Texas.”

Getting Better All the Time

What to Know: Parkland Hospital in Dallas has closed its COVID-19 unit due to the recent drop in hospitalized cases ([link removed] ) .

The TPPF Take: It’s time to lift the lockdowns that have stressed every Texas family.

“For Texans, lockdown orders are more than just policy decisions; they can determine the fate of our lives, livelihoods, and the futures of our children,” says TPPF’s Vance Ginn. “Otherwise, Texas risks permanent economic and health damage.”
