As a loyal Heifer supporter, you know we have given all kinds of animals (and training in their care!) to families in need, including fluffy alpacas and llamas. And while these animals might look the same at first glance, they’re incredibly different!

But at the end of the day — these two do share more similarities than differences. The biggest one? Both can help lift families in need out of hunger and poverty.

Alpacas and llamas can withstand the harshest of weather conditions, provide up to four pounds of valuable wool a year and can be used as pack animals to move goods to markets. And they’re pretty cute, too!
