I know you’re worried about this election. I am too. 

 

After all, it’s an historic year -- and now we’re dealing with President Trump’s anti-democratic attempts to dismantle the US Postal Service and sow doubt on the elections themselves.

 

I am doing everything in my power to stop them. But the single best way to combat this is something you can do at home in less than a minute. That’s request your no-excuse absentee ballot right now.

 

You can request your ballot online, and your county board of elections will mail it right to your home.

After you get your ballot, make sure you follow the instructions; the most important are to have someone witness your completion of the ballot and for both of you to sign the envelope in the right places. 

 

Then stick it in the mail right away!!! Don't wait.

 

You can sign up with the State Board of Elections to receive text and email alerts so you know that your ballot was received. 

 

After a week or so, go online to check the state board to make sure your ballot was received. Click here to track your ballot.

 

And make sure to tell all of your friends and family too. North Carolina has no-excuse absentee voting. That means ANY registered voter can vote by mail for ANY reason.

 

The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy. I’m not ready to give that up to Donald Trump’s lies and fear-mongering.
