Help train America’s future leaders—$250,000 matching grant!

Dear John,

Law school can be a lonely place for people of faith.

The students who stand firm in their faith often face rejection and hostility from faculty, administrators, and even their peers.

It’s overwhelming, it’s demoralizing, and most of all, it’s isolating.

Thankfully, when the Blackstone Legal Fellowship was founded more than 20 years ago, our vision for the program included more than just training.

Yes, Blackstone provides a priceless legal education that is instrumental to these students’ success.

Blackstone helps equip these future leaders to stand for Truth in today’s hostile law school environment and develop the tools they need to impact the culture and legal system for good.

But Blackstone serves another purpose that is just as important for these young people and for the future of freedom here in America… community.

The vision for Blackstone has always been one where future leaders could be encouraged, equipped, and connected with like-minded peers and accomplished professionals.

And because of God’s blessing and your faithful prayers and support, Blackstone is working.

In more than 20 years of existence, Blackstone has trained some of the brightest minds of this generation. Many come from top law schools, go on to get competitive jobs clerking for federal judges, and ultimately assume key leadership roles throughout the legal system…as you’ll see in Jim’s story below.

But most importantly, these young people share your love for our God-given freedoms, John.

They know if we don’t defend and protect our freedoms today—we could lose them. But we need your help to grow this important program.

Generous ADF Ministry Friends have donated a $250,000 grant to match your gift to support the Blackstone Legal Fellowship dollar for dollar. Your tax-deductible gift today will be DOUBLED to train the next generation of Christian leaders

DOUBLE MY GIFT

When you support Blackstone, you support the next generation of Christian leaders

When Jim Campbell was in law school, only a few of his classmates shared his faith and views of the law.

“In that sense, law school was a bit isolating,” he recalls.

So when Jim heard about Blackstone, he jumped at the opportunity to work with others who shared his passions and religious beliefs.

The experience provided numerous friendships that have lasted throughout the years—both personally and professionally.

“God used the experience to shape my entire worldview,” says Jim. “Those late nights hanging out with the other interns discussing law and theology were the highlight of the experience for me. I don’t think I’ve been so sleep-deprived and invigorated at the same time—except, perhaps, for the weeks after my sons were born,” he laughs.

In fact, it was Jim’s involvement with Blackstone that eventually introduced him to his wife, who is also a Blackstone Fellow.

Needless to say, Blackstone has had quite an impact on Jim’s life. And so has Alliance Defending Freedom.

After law school, Jim landed a coveted clerkship with the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Then Jim decided to begin working as a full-time attorney at ADF.

In his twelve years working at ADF, Jim was on the frontlines defending religious freedom and freedom of conscience against legal attacks. He was the lead attorney for Kentucky promotional printer Blaine Adamson—arguing on Blaine’s behalf and securing a crucial victory at the Kentucky Supreme Court.

But Jim’s story would have been very different without you, John. Because without God’s blessing (John 15:5) and the prayers and support of people like you, the Blackstone Legal Fellowship wouldn’t exist.

And without Blackstone, Jim and more than 2,400 other Blackstone graduates wouldn’t have the resources that the program provides to help them protect freedom today—and for your children and grandchildren.

Will you give a tax-deductible gift today to help ensure that the next generation of Christian leaders are prepared to defend your freedom?

A matching grant will double your gift today!

Through your gifts to the Blackstone Legal Fellowship, we’re shifting law and culture—one law student at a time.

Blackstone shows the next generation of Christian leaders that they are not alone. And time after time, these young people graduate Blackstone feeling reenergized in their passions and fully equipped to carry on the mission God called them to.

Through Blackstone, they see that there is a place for them in the halls of government, at the helm of corporations and prestigious law firms, and in positions of influence in their communities—places where they can make a real difference.

And they are making a difference.

Over 110 Blackstone graduates are in full-time legal nonprofit work advocating for your religious freedom.

Several hundred work for federal, state, and local governments providing influence over legislation and policy.

A growing number are becoming law professors and business leaders.

As for Jim, he now serves as the Solicitor General of Nebraska, overseeing and directing civil appeals in the Nebraska Attorney General's Office.

He credits Blackstone with providing not only the crucial experience he needed to help him succeed in his legal career, but also the career resources and connections to continue to make a difference.

“Participating in Blackstone was one of the most formative experiences of my life,” explains Jim. “It introduced me to a community of people with the same faith, passions, and interests as my own, and opened important doors for my career.”

John, God is using you to provide the education, training, and fellowship that people like Jim need at such a critical time in their lives.

And right now, there is a huge opportunity to train even more future leaders to fight and WIN for freedom.

Each year we receive more highly qualified applicants than we have space for—just this year we were forced to turn away hundreds of applicants, including nearly 70 that we would have accepted if we had the capacity. In addition, each year we receive more requests than we can fill from prominent legal organizations looking to get interns from Blackstone.

But our resources only go so far. It costs nearly $25,000 to provide all the Blackstone training and resources to just one student.

That’s why your help is needed now.

You can see that there is immense opportunity to grow the Blackstone program. But that growth is wholly dependent on God’s provision (John 15:5) and your faithful prayers and support.

If you care deeply about the current battles for freedom in this country, please consider making a tax-deductible gift today to help grow this important program, John.

Generous ADF Ministry Friends have donated a $250,000 grant to match your gift to support the Blackstone Legal Fellowship dollar for dollar. That means your gift today will be doubled—a $10 gift will become $20, a $100 gift will become $200, and a $1,000 gift will become $2,000.

But the match won’t last forever.

Please take advantage of this rare opportunity to double your tax-deductible gift right now. Because of the blessing of the match, your gift will have twice the impact to support the next generation of Christian leaders.

Thank you for your generosity.
