The post holder will be working for Nottingham City Council Energy Services as a Metering Technician. The post holder will be required to undertake high quality electrical work, mechanical installations or associated infrastructure works of a specialist nature on a local and national basis. The role predominantly supports our national client base but will also include works on the Nottingham District Heating Network. The post holder will have a varied and exciting role, installing our own in-house decentralised energy payment metering solution, commissioning of these and undertaking all other installation works, this could be fitting a router or installing a heat meter on site and any other associated works as required. The post holder will be required to undertake site surveys and assist with the production of quotations for the required works. The post holder will be required to travel across the UK to complete these works, with some overnights stays required for ongoing contracts.Nottingham City Council Energy Services are an innovative forward thinking team, the post holder will be heavily involved in the development and delivery of new solutions to the decentralised energy market.?

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical and be time served.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
  • Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment.
  • Able to travel to other locations of work on a national basis as and when required and where overnight stays may be required.
  • Ability to perform acceptance testing on electrical products and complete the necessary quality sign off documentation.
Desirable -
  • Energy Industry Experience.
  • Experience of supervising junior members of staff.
