Dear John,
Next Monday, September 21, marks one of the most important days of the year to the Alzheimer's disease community: World Alzheimer's Day.
In the fight to end Alzheimer's disease, we like to say we are stronger together. I hope that on this World Alzheimer's Day, we'll be stronger than ever because we'll have your support.
If you've been waiting for the perfect time to join the movement to end Alzheimer's, a disease that affects 1 out of 10 Americans over the age of 65, this is it — because, on this global day devoted to the fight against Alzheimer's, we have an exciting opportunity: a World Alzheimer's Day Triple Matching Gift Challenge.
For World Alzheimer's Day, a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous has agreed to TRIPLE match all gifts, up to a total of $180,000. This incredible gift is made in memory of the donor's mother, who lived with Alzheimer's for 10 years and will help further critical Alzheimer's research that can one day end this disease. Please, make your first gift now, when it can go three times as far to provide the 24/7 care and support and accelerate the research that will end Alzheimer's once and for all.
It's also an ideal time to reflect on how far we have come, thanks to the generous support of our community — as the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, we are currently investing over $208 million in 590 active best-of-field projects in 31 countries. And, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made sure that those affected by Alzheimer's continue to receive uninterrupted, quality care and support, online and over the phone. By standing with us and making your first gift today, you'll allow us to continue this crucial work and provide help and hope to millions.
But John, we have so much more to do. That's why we need you to join us today. If you donate before this challenge ends on September 25, your support can have three times the impact on our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
With deep appreciation for your support,
Donna McCullough
Chief Field and Development Officer
P.S. Every day — but especially on World Alzheimer's Day — we're stronger together in the fight to end Alzheimer's. Please help us realize our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia by joining us today. Your gift can go 3X as far today, so don't wait.
