Dear John,

Tory MPs are coming closer to defeating Boris Johnson

After 30,000 messages from Best for Britain supporters, up to 30 Conservatives rebelled or abstained last night

Over the last week, Best for Britain supporters just like you have sent more than 30,000 messages to MPs. Thanks to the pressure YOU applied, a backbench rebellion is gathering pace.

The first vote in Parliament on Boris Johnson's Internal Market Bill last night showed this government can be beaten - if we build towards the more important vote on it later this month. John, will you help us build? <[link removed]>

The Bill would set out the Prime Minister's plans to break international law and tear up the Withdrawal Agreement international treaty he himself signed. This Bill would have consequences far beyond breaking international law on customs arrangements in Northern Ireland - it would prove to other nations that Britain's word cannot be trusted. That we're cheaters and liars on the international stage.

We have a real chance to put the brakes on the government’s worst impulses. We just need to persuade a relatively small number of additional Conservative MPs to rebel. And to do that we need your help, John. <[link removed]>

We need funds, and we need them fast, before the Internal Markets Bill has a chance to become law. We need to reach people across the UK. We need to run online ads in every Conservative seat in the country. It costs around £2 to reach a voter in a target constituency, and to persuade them to send a message to their MP.

With influential MPs like ex-Attorney General Geoffrey Cox and former PM Theresa May leading the rebellion of backbenchers, this is a real opportunity.

But the fight isn’t won yet. We need to keep the pressure on Conservative backbenchers.

Many MPs just need their constituents to give them the cover they need to do what they know is right. No matter what anyone might think of politicians' motives, they won't have become an MP to be party to the destruction of Britain's good reputation in the world. Help us to help them find the will to withhold their support for the Prime Minister's law-breaking. <[link removed]>

Please, if you are able, donate to help us run more ads, reach more voters, and send more messages to MPs. We can stop this Bill, but only with your help. Your donation now will really make a difference - we have this chance to prove the government can be beaten.

Sending 30,000 emails in one week is incredible. But if we want to stop the PM in his tracks, we’ll have to do even better. <[link removed]>

Now is our chance to turn it all around. The PM is dragging our nation’s reputation through the mud. I for one won’t let him do it without a fight.

Best wishes,

Cary Mitchell

Director of Operations

PS. I never thought I'd compare the UK to a rogue state. In my lifetime Britain has stood for international law, for fair play and for freedom over tyranny. Please, John, add your contribution now, because I really don't like where this could lead. <[link removed]>
