In a few minutes, I’m going to ask you to donate to my campaign for U.S. Senate, but first, I hope you will give me a chance to explain why it’s so important.

Every three months or so, our campaign creates a budget for the quarter and sets fundraising deadlines and goals to help keep us on track leading up to Election Day.

In two days, we will close the books on our mid-month deadline. And the next morning, our team will check in and see if we are on track to send a strong report to the Federal Election Commission once this month ends — a report that will be made public for everyone to see.

That means that everything we do this month is under close watch. Republicans will be checking to see if we actually have what it takes to flip the Senate in November.

But this report is about more than the final amount we’ve raised over the past three months — it’s also about the number of people who’ve contributed. So when you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can afford, you are helping us prove the strength of this grassroots movement.

Now, we still have a lot of work ahead of us — we’re up against an opponent who is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars of his own money to try and buy this election here in New Jersey. But I know the strength of this team, and together, I’m confident that we can continue our important work together in the Senate.
