Here’s what you can do between now and November 3.

Indivisibles,

Today marks 50 days until November 3, and we just have one question:

Indivisibles across the country have come together to make calls, send texts, and write letters in defense of our democracy. To date, we’ve held 2,299 events from coast to coast and just hit 10 MILLION voter contact attempts -- but we aren’t slowing down.

The next 50 days are critical if we want to make Trump a one-term president and win key House and Senate races for a big blue wave in Congress. If you want to be part of the movement that saves our democracy, check out this list of 50 actions you can take in the next 50 days:

50 Actions in 50 Days

With 50 days to go, these 50 actions will serve as your guide to make a difference in the outcome of the election and encourage others to do the same. It’s a list of ideas and resources with little pockets of inspiration for you to reference and share between now and November 3.

Trump and his enablers, like Mitch McConnell and Susan Collins, count on us being overwhelmed and unmotivated. So, we’re here to remind you of our power to make history, because we’ve actually done it before. We didn’t just win when critical House seats were up for grabs in 2018; we dominated. Through strategic voter outreach, Indivisibles helped flip 41-GOP held House seats -- marking the largest midterms margin of victory in history.

This time, the stakes are even higher and we’re rising to meet them. We’re voting like our democracy depends on it -- because it does -- and helping other voters get ready to do the same. If you’re ready to take action right now, sign up for a call shift by phonebanking with Windivisible.

We have so much more to tell you about, so here are your weekly to-dos:

 Your weekly to-dos

  1. Join activists, volunteers, and group leaders for our Windivisible GOTV Bootcamp on October 3. GOTV stands for “Get Out the Vote,” which is our main focus over the next 50 days. Wondering how we’ll drive voter turnout if we can’t go door-to-door? This half-day training will help you get involved in the most critical period before election day!
  2. Call your Senators to demand they pass the Heroes Act with $25 billion in USPS funding and $3.6 billion in election funding. Don’t be fooled; the Senate’s unwillingness to pass the Heroes Act isn’t about the price tag. The relief we need for the issues we care about cost money, but that’s why, unlike Senate Republicans, we’re prioritizing election funding over corporate immunity. For more information on the Heroes Act, check out our explainer where we break down the package and secure our election during the pandemic.
  3. Call your Senators and tell them to save the Postal Service by supporting the Delivering for America Act. The House already passed this resolution -- now it’s the Senate’s turn. During Postmaster General DeJoy’s hearings, it became even clearer that he has no intention to reverse course on the damage that’s well underway. In between lies about the impact of his policies, DeJoy confirmed he would not be replacing the 671 sorting machines that he has ordered to be removed. Trump and the GOP are prepared to let the Postal Service fail if it means they get to keep power -- tell the Senate we won’t stand for it.
  4. Record a video telling us why you’re in this fight. Your stories breathe life into our movement, which is why we want to hear from you directly. Tell us what drives you and what you’re doing to help win in November. This campaign is about highlighting your hard work and inspiring others to do the same. Got any organizing tips? A funny story about what led you to this work? We want to hear it all!
  5. Ready to phonebank? Watch our latest episode of Indivisible Weekly for a step-by-step guide on how to sign up for a call shift. In this episode, Pablo breaks down what you need to know to start talking to voters in critical states all over the country. Direct voter contact is the fastest and most effective way of sharing information that people need to be able to vote safely. Just because we can’t knock on doors doesn't mean we won’t be able to spread our message!
  6. Call your Representative now to ask them to cosponsor the THRIVE Resolution. We’re looking ahead to 2021 to lay the groundwork for a COVID recovery package that meets a broad range of needs. The THRIVE Resolution addresses mass unemployment, racial injustice, public health, and climate change -- demanding that Congress rise to meet the level of the overlapping crises we’re facing.

 2020 Update

Last week we announced that we’ve added Sen. Dan Sullivan, Alaska’s freshman senator to our list of targets for 2020. Again and again, Sen. Sullivan has stood by Trump, voting with him 91.5% of the time. He voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act and supported Trump’s 2017 tax scam, and put his party before his country when he voted to block witnesses and acquit Trump during the impeachment trial. He has even stood by as the president sabotaged Alaska’s vital Postal Service.

With 50 days until the election, we need support from people in every state to win this monumental fight. If you’re in a target state, join a local group and work to raise awareness with your neighbors and communities about your incumbent target. If you’re not in a target state, sign up to call voters in Payback states and get voters prepared to cast their ballots this year.

Help us secure the results of November's election

Every day another news story comes out detailing the new ways Trump is seeking to undermine November’s election. Amidst a pandemic, where people’s safety and health are paramount, the last thing we should have to worry about is the safety and health of our democratic process.

Unfortunately, that’s not the world we’re living in. That’s why we need Protect the Results -- a joint project between 40 partner organizations to make sure Trump and everyone else respects the results of November’s election. We’re budgeting over $1.2 million if we need to do that work, and we need your help: can you donate $10 to protect the results and fund all our work?

 Indivisible’s “State of Joe”

From now to Election Day, we’ll be highlighting how Indivisible groups across the country are doing the work to make Joe Biden our next President! This week, we wanted to highlight this team of committed phonebankers in Illinois:

We always feel so proud when we see Indivisibles showing up for one another. Phonebanking is so much more fun to do with friends! Keep up the good work, we’ll see you across the finish line in 50 days time.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
